The Charlie Earle

Memorial Micro-Grant

For Charlie.

The Charlie Earle Memorial Micro Grant is awarded to a Black woman or non-binary artist who best embodies Charlie's legacy. Charlie was a multidisciplinary artist and musician who was known for her kind and welcoming nature and incredible voice. The grant is awarded by a committee of Charlie’s friends and family as well as members of the local Black community. Artists of any discipline are encouraged to apply.

Charlie Earle passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in July of 2019 at age 33. Friends remember her as a “firecracker” and for both her powerful voice and loving nature. When she died she left an enormous hole in Peterborough’s music scene, once filled by a “5 foot tall force of nature”.

Those who were lucky enough to know her will always miss her voice, her friendship and her laughter.

The Gender Affirming Care Grant

This bursary was created to give Trans and gender variant people living in Nogojiwanong-Peterborough access to funds they need to purchase gender-affirming items or services. This initiative was developed following a survey conducted in the summer of 2020 by the Centre. The results of this survey highlighted the need for accessible and affordable services for Trans community members. You do NOT need to be a student to access this grant!

We ask for each participant to fill out the following survey. Please note that there is a limited amount of funding available, and we are trying to serve everyone we possibly can.

Through this program, we have provided an option for you to order your items and have them shipped directly to you. Once selected for funding, a follow up email will be sent to you.

All applications will remain confidential. Any personal information will be discarded after the application process. You will also be sent a survey for us to gather feedback and improve this program for the future.
